Quesadilla with Rotimatic? Kudos to Bharti Amarmani for making lunch problems a question of the past.

Kids need a punch of energy before they are off to play and the scrumptious quesadilla is a clever answer to keep them from losing essential nutrients during their game.

Chapati Sandwich with Rotimatic:

Rotimatic-sanwich

What do you get when you combine healthy chapatis and the flavours of a stuffed sandwich? Happy children and relieved parents!

Take a cue from Shweta Sanjeev who has put an end to snacking woes.

Take three Rotimatic chapatis, stuff the layers with toppings of your choice and cut through them for some aesthetic beauty. That is it!

Rotimatic Pizza:

On my kids popular demand , the *Rotimatic pizza* ? is back again fr today's breakfast !!! ?

For all the children’s cravings for pizza, here is finally an answer that will satisfy you both. Replace the base with fresh Rotimatic roti and make it the canvas for your art.

Priyanka Prasad adds a refreshing twist by placing the roti with cheese in the microwave to melt it and then crisping it by tossing it on a tawa.

Even the roti is a brilliant creative feat by combining multigrain wheat flour with the flours of jowl, ragi and oats with a pinch of ajwain and salt. This pizza is a hot plate of nutrients and even keeps the kids asking for more!

Shweta Sanjeev once again shows us, dishing out healthy food for the kids are no longer a chore with a little bit of gumption.

Rotimatic Roti and Sabzi:

Rotimatic-tiffin

For a whiff of nostalgia and feeding children the food of our tiffin breaks, Rotimatic can serve the traditional meal at a fraction of the effort.

Serve with Aloo sabzi (or any sabzi of your choice), curd and salad for a wholesome meal that promotes digestion and healthy carbohydrates.

Whether it is for lunch or dinner or some mid-day craving, keeping the children eager for healthy food has never been this easy.

It is not often that a product resonates with people so well that they become a community by themselves. When you buy Rotimatic, you are not just the owner of an intelligent robot in isolation. You are part of a large, welcoming family that is passionate about health, creativity, time and cost-effectiveness.

The Rotimatic Owners Facebook Group is a lively place where owners share their experiences and queries and other owners respond with motivation and solutions. Some of these hacks even surprise us and it is amazing how the Rotimatic fraternity has made Rotimatic a part of its own- spinning off new recipes, experimenting with flour, settings and each member bringing something unique to the table.

Neetu Punjabi’s experience is exactly what we had wished for while creating Rotimatic:

Parathas, puris, theplas with Rotimatic:

For Rotimatic, the vision has always been to make healthy living easier. It is the world’s first fully automated flat bread making robot and we have just recently rolled out beta upgrades to prepare puris with Rotimatic. But our Rotimatic community is light years ahead of us! Take a look at the Facebook group for proof of their creativity and dexterity. From methi parathas, aloo parathas, masala puris, methi theplas to jowar bhakras– the innovations are endless! The group is hot with out-of-the-box ideas and inspires us in turn, to make the experience even better.

Aloo Roti with Rotimatic:

We vote brilliant! Kudos to Pradeep Malreddy for creative experimenting!

Methi Thepla with Rotimatic:

We love Grishma Patel and Divya Soni’s knack for ingenious ideas!

Apart from fascinating recipes, the power of the community to successfully channel their needs and desires into Rotimatic has been eye opening to say the least. While the current settings officially support six variants of wheat flour, but the passionate enthusiasts have figured ways to add more flavour and variety of their parties.

Keeping in mind their special dietary needs, they have themselves experimented and shared recipes for gluten-free brands, too. Rotimatic is an intelligent machine, which means it learns from its previous attempts to better its rotis and smoothen the experience. But our customers are not people who simply push a button and wait for the roti to slide out. They want more, design new ways to get more and it has been truly amazing to witness the zeal and creativity of this community.

From kind appreciation, motivation and critical feedback, our customers have been a central part of the Rotimatic movement. Today, on our blog, instead of us talking about Rotimatic, we turn the spotlight on you – our valued customers! Here are top Rotimatic reviews posted by our customers discussing their individual opinions on Rotimatic. All views/opinions are of the reviewers and are based on their personal experiences.

Rotimatic Reviews from Our Customers

These are the top 5 Rotimatic reviews that we have selected from a repository of feedback and testimonials submitted by our users. We will go through each of these reviews in detail to find out what each of our customers love about their next big thing in the kitchen.

US-based Vikas Sharma Shares His Experiences

The first video is a crisp 3-minute overview of Rotimatic in time lapse that takes you through the step-by-step process of unboxing and setting up the Rotimatic. Vikas Sharma, who hails from the United States of America, uploaded his unboxing video which has been super helpful for curious and interested buyers who can now see for themselves what to expect in the box and how easy it is to make Roti with the click of a button.

The best part is the unedited display of Rotimatic’s hiccup when the first time the flour tunnel got blocked. But as shown in the video, it is super easy to clean and the A.I. built in Rotimatic helps it learn to make better rotis the next time! Watch the video above to find out what Mr. Sharma thinks of his Rotimatic.

A Review from a Singapore Customer

Musings of a Fun-Sized Drama Queen, a good blogger, uses humour to make some very relevant points about Indian culture and expectations from men and women. But Rotimatic has been churning its bit of gender equality – one roti at a time. According to the blogger from Singapore, it has freed up women’s time to pursue their jobs, interests, passions and taken away men’s excuse that they do not know how to cook. Now anyone can make rotis with the push of a button!

What she likes about her latest investment is the customization settings. The option of having very little oil in her rotis is a privilege, she says. Plus, she can also adjust the roast and the thickness of the chapatis. Making it perfect for all the members of the family.

Testimonials of a User from California, USA

This review on US-based Sankalp Kohli’s channel explains the functioning of Rotimatic in great detail. You can watch the actual loading, kneading and puffing up of rotis in real time and judge for yourself how quick and hassle free the entire process is.

This is by far the most detailed review of Rotimatic we have seen as it captures everything about the smart kitchen appliance. Mr. Kohli, who lives in California, also talks about the price tag and how he thinks Rotimatic is reasonably priced. We launched Rotimatic all over the United States in America at the end of 2016 and the reception has been phenomenal. It is video reviews like these that gives us all the motivation to work harder and make Rotimatic better than it already is.

Review by Cook with Manali

Food blogger Manali on her blog, Cook with Manali, has written a detailed review of Rotimatic as well as uploaded a fun demonstration video on her YouTube Channel. Check out her blog for FAQs and appreciation for the fully automated device. Originally from India, Manali is now a US citizen and runs her food blog from her Seattle home.

Rotimatic recipes
Our customers have also tried making puris and tortillas with their Rotimatic

In her blog, she points out the ease of using the machine and cleaning. She has tried rotis and puris with Rotimatic, which has made her life easier than before. A culinary expert, she intends to put Rotimatic on full use as she tries out different recipes. What will come in handy for her is our Facebook Owners group where fellow users share their unique recipes with other customers based in countries like Canada and UK. The group is common for all people who own a Rotimatic.

A Feature from ZEE TV

The last video on this list is a product feature on Zee TV’s Tomorrow’s World, a show that highlights modern innovations that have the power and ability to alter the world. The feature includes a live demonstration and interview with co-founder Pranoti Nagarkar who talks about the journey of Rotimatic and future plans for upgrading the device.

Have a look at the video above to get a glimpse of what all technologies went behind Rotimatic and why it is being named as the most innovative product in its sector. As many of us already know, it is capable of baking rotis in less than 90 seconds, uses very less oil, and improves its baking quality as and when more rotis are prepared. More on the technologies can be found on our website.

Verdict and Conlcusion

Apart from our customers, it has also been featured by different tech publications such as CNET, PCMag, Fortune, Guardian, Yahoo! and Engadget. One thing common in all their opinions is the relevance of owning a technology that bakes and puffs rotis in one minute at a time when rotis and chapatis are a staple food of a lot of people. Our customers have also voiced their experiences in other sites like Amazon and YouTube, which gives us all the more pleasure because we always love to hear new and unique opinions.

With Rotimatic, we are committed to make healthy eating hassle-free because we realise how tempting it is to ignore health for convenience.

Walking down the aisle of a grocery store, it’s easy to buy into the myth of goodness of homemade food prepared like instant noodles. Ready to eat foods in glossy packages serenade you with its loud beckons of “Tastes like home” or some other catchy tagline. Colourful speech bubbles scream “Healthy!” “Nutritious!” And smiling children with piping hot bowls of the meal stare back at you like it’s Christmas. You flip over the cover and it’s the same old story again- preservatives, trans-fats, Monosodium Glutamate- an ingredients list that sounds more like the labels off beakers in a chemistry laboratory.

Frozen food unhealthy

When did food get so complicated? Today we have a global phenomenon and it is increasing at an exponential rate. Termed as lifestyle diseases, research has proved that our current habits of binging on junk food, instant food and sedentary lifestyle has snowballed into a catastrophic epidemic that has claimed millions of lives. Diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular problems, obesity, arthritis- all these non-communicable diseases today dominate the problems plaguing our lives. And one cannot blame the consumers. Caught between a demanding work schedule and processed food in plastic packets, people have very little choice left in the matter.

roti-revolution-is-here

But here at Rotimatic, we strive to change that and give back the power to the people. Maybe the goodness of homemade food can be prepared in a jiffy like instant noodles! Flatbreads are the the earliest form of bread. Simply put, flatbread is an unleavened bread, which is made without yeast. Flour, water, and salt are the main ingredients. It’s rolled out flat and cooked. It’s origins seem to be in ancient Egypt but many cultures have their versions of flatbread. From roti in India and the Indian subcontinent to the tortilla in Central and South America, flatbreads are the staple in many parts of the world. You may have also tried the Jewish matzo, Middle Eastern pita or Scandinavian crispbreads, because some form of flatbread is produced just about everywhere. By the way, pizza dough is a type of flatbread, as well!

When we designed Rotimatic, we wanted it to be a solution not just for rotis but a flatbread making platform for families across the world.

The journey has just begun and Rotimatic has served over a million rotis in kitchens across US and Singapore. We are now working on Indian flatbreads such as poori, missi roti, millet rotis with jowar, bajara and even tortillas. We realise the Indian palate is diverse and adventurous so we have already started working on more types of flatbreads. Beginning with Pooris!

Pooris are the food of festivals. Exuberance of life!

This is a beta version of how Rotimatic will enable pooris:

It’s no coincidence that both the rise in obesity and the rise of eating outside food have shot up in recent decades. In a system where our food passes through so many hands, there’s little control over what we are feeding our families. Cooking at home is empowering. You can be sure of the exact ingredients that go into your meals. Since outside food has different priorities than your home kitchen (they want to make something irresistibly tasty before considering how healthy it is, most of the time), you can reclaim a pretty significant part of your health by being in control of your food hands-on.

With Rotimatic, our endeavour is to ensure you don’t have to choose between health and convenience.

Supermarket-unhealthy-food

Convenience doesn’t have to mean a compromise on quality. We have outsourced our food preparation to supermarkets and with that comes the side effect of preservatives. The surest way to a healthy meal is to know every ingredient that goes into it. By ensuring you include whole wheat rotis in your daily diet, you can be sure of no hydrogenated fats, no preservatives, no artificial sweeteners, no artificial flavors or colors. Store bought, mass produced food is not the choice of any health-conscious family.

Homemade rotis come with a host of health benefits:

Rotis are made with whole grains

If you make roti or chapati with whole wheat flour (recommended with your Rotimatic), it can be really healthy for the body. Whole grains are filled with fibres and are nutritious. They are rich in carbs, soluble fibre and proteins. This helps boost your body energy, increase blood circulation and keeps you full.

Rotis are nutritious and low on calories

This whole grain is a rich source of vitamin (B1, B2, B3, B6, B9), iron, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium etc so you should not avoid roti in your diet. Replacing roti with bread and wraps can deplete your health in the long term.

Rotis have a low Glycemic index

Carbohydrates such as fruits, vegetables and grains are not metabolized into glucose at the same rate. Some are quickly digested, causing spikes in blood glucose and insulin release, while others are broken down more slowly, which impacts blood sugar and insulin levels to a much lesser degree. The glycemic index is a comparative measure of how quickly a carbohydrate is reduced into glucose. Whole wheat rotis have a Glycemic index lower than both white bread and white rice.

Rotis-healthy

Rotis are easy to digest

As rotis are made with whole grains, it is very easy to digest them. They dissolve easily and passes out into the intestines.

Rotis are fresh

As roti dough is kneaded few minutes before roasting, it is very fresh and healthy for the body. Other breads are fermented and they can be filled with fats and calories. Moreover, flour of freshly made rotis is not bleached with chemicals to last longer. So, it protects your body from, cardiovascular diseases and obesity.

Roti influences vata and pitta doshas

According to Ayurveda experts, roti helps balance the vata (controls all movement in the body, including breathing, digestion, and nerve impulses from the brain ) and pitta (controls digestion, body metabolism and energy production) dosha.

While most of us often pair rotis with dal and sabzi (all time comfort food!), the humble roti is more versatile than we can imagine. From a platter of kebabs to a healthy fruity dessert, rotis are perfect accompaniment to many dishes.

One fine afternoon, the Rotimatic team got together with some foodies in San Francisco to have fun with rotis. We cooked up a perfect light meal of healthy appetizers and dips to compliment the Rotimatic Rotis.

Since the guests were not familiar with the traditional roti-making process, Pranoti (the co-founder and CTO of Zimplistic) gave them a quick preview of what it takes! The guests took a stab at it as well and sure enough opted to work with Rotimatic rotis instead. Guests were divided into small teams to prepare a variety of internationally inspired tapas recipes.  Once the cooking was finished, everyone shared dishes with each other cocktail party style.

Savouries included:
– Chicken Tikka Kebabs with Tamarind Chutney
– Roti “Pizzas” with Seasonal Toppings
– Roasted Lamb Skewers with Pistachio, Mint, and Yogurt
– Lentil Keema made with Indian Spice and Cilantro Chutney
– Paneer and Broccoli Masala with Fresh Curry Leaves

The dessert was most special!
– Sweet Roti, Cardamon Creme Anglaise, Mango and Coconut

If you’re itching to try some unique recipes yourself, here’s the recipe of the delicious dessert:

SWEET ROTI, CARDAMON CRÈME ANGLAISE, MANGO AND COCONUT

Recipe: Serves 10

Cardamom Crème Anglaise:
2 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
2 Tablespoons cardamom pods, toasted and ground
8 large egg yolks
½ cup sugar
½ teaspoon kosher salt
Ice for ice bath

Make Crème Anglaise: In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, bring milk, cream, salt and cardamom to a simmer. Combine the egg yolks and sugar in a medium bowl and beat, using a hand mixer, until pale, light yellow and thick, about 3-5 minutes. Slowly, add half the cardamom milk mixture to the yolk mixture and beat on low until blended. Add the second half of the milk mixture. Transfer the mixture back to a saucepan and cook over low heat until it reaches 160oF or when the mixture coats the back of a spoon. Quickly remove from heat (It will turn to scrambled eggs if it goes over this temperature) and strain immediately into a bowl placed on an ice bath.

Coconut and Mango Topping:
2 ripe mangoes, diced
1/3 cup unsweetened coconut, toasted 1 lime, zested and juiced
2 teaspoons sugar

Mango Topping: In a medium mixing bowl, add mango, coconut, sugar, lime zest and juice, toss and set aside.

Roti
1/8 cup ghee, melted
1⁄4 cup sugar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon

Brush Roti: Mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Brush the roti with ghee, then sprinkle a generous amount of the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Serve: Cut roti in quarters. Carefully put 2 Tablespoons of cardamom anglaise in the center with 2 Tablespoons of topping. Roll and eat.

Recipe created by Parties That Cook

On a seemingly regular Saturday, Zimplistic office was brimming with excitement. The most unflappable in our team was caught gushing and blushing. How could they resist?

We shared our love for rotis with our favourite cricketer of all time. One of the most legendary batsmen ever, the king of test cricket, former West Indian captain, Brian Lara!

Brian was intrigued by Rotimatic and impressed with all the hard work and technology that went behind its invention.

He enthusiastically heard all about the evolution of Rotimatic over the years, toured around our office, tried the different Rotimatic roti recipes, recollected fond memories with the Indian cricket team and of course posed with the team for selfies 🙂

After understanding all the inventions that made Rotimatic possible, Brian admired the spirit of perseverance and resonated with the importance of “preparation before proceeds”.

In Brian’s words, For me preparation was everything. If I didn’t prepare properly, I wasn’t going to score runs. One of my favourite sportsmen, Michael Jordan said that he practised so hard that when he got into the match it was like cruise control, he knew what he was doing. I suspect in this environment it’s almost the same. You spent so many years building a product that eventually it is going to stand the test of time. I am really proud to be here and really proud of you guys for building something that is so exciting. For us West Indians, we have a lot of rotis and stuff like that. So it’s pretty cool to see what’s going on here. Well done!”

To our delight, Brian is also a fan of rotis, he understands the art and science behind the roti-making process.
We were glad to know that rotis are very widely consumed in West Indies and learned about a popular West Indian roti-dish called Double Trinidad/ Doubles. Doubles essentially is made of two barras (flatbread) stuffed with curry channa (spicy chickpeas). Among South Asia recipes, Brian says it’s closest to ‘Chhola Bhatura‘.

We were as inspired as we were elated to hear encouraging words from Brian Lara. He too is looking forward to having a Rotimatic at his home and hosting a roti party!
